“I consider myself a jack of all trades. I like to have meaningful conversations on topics ranging from politics, to share markets, sports, food, etc. I like to read a lot, and one would often find me in the library, or looking at a document on my phone. I also am very eager to learn new things and get attached to people who prove me wrong.”
Name an instance where you wanted something and went out of your comfort zone to achieve it OR Tell us the biggest risk you have taken so far in your life.
I always wanted to win a case study competition, but I just couldn't do it. From figuring out the right team members to choosing the right topic, and compartmentalising the steps to figure out the solution was a very tedious task. I stepped out of my comfort zone by meeting new talented people, convincing them to join my team, and asking them to put in as much work as me. Once I did that, the execution was pretty simple. In the end, I became one of the few people on campus to have won a case study competition.
When was the last time someone relied on you? OR What did you do which was purely for someone else - a truly selfless act.
I often used to trade and consistently show profits. My friend was in the habit of taking loans from instant loan apps and was deep in debt. He did not have money to pay back his loan and the due date was fast approaching. He trusted me and gave me his savings, asking me to generate as much profit as I can. I did my best and generated an adequate amount of money. When it was still not enough, I also gave him my own money and helped him overcome his financial difficulties.
Tell us about a time when you disagreed with an opinion/idea/decision. What did you do about it?
My teammates and I were participating in a competition where we had to choose any smart home products and define a strategy to sell them. We disagreed on what we were going to choose. Our product ideas ranged from smart locks to smart notebooks. We were in constant disagreement. We decided to pitch our products to our friends, and asked them to vote for the best. Our mutual friends voted in secret, so none of us got hurt, and we learned which product was most liked. We were able to decide our base products, and also tried to implement all the new ideas that we came up with for our individual products into the common product, so that the entire team felt united to develop the product.
What is the one thing you can claim to have some level of expertise or depth of knowledge in - it could be anything - a subject, a sport, a hobby, a venture, an initiative which has led you to do deep work in that field?
I love to speak about politics, ranging from local to international. It allows me to know and understand various cultures and their points of reference. I believe that by knowing the politics of the world, we can truly understand the nature of people in any country, and better ourselves by learning the best qualities from them.
If 10 Million Dollars (approximately INR 75 Crores) is given to you to use it any way you deem fit what would you do with this corpus?
I would invest 2 million dollars in the stock market because I know that right now I can generate financial wealth for a long time. Further, I would start a gaming company where people can play with real money based on an ecosystem model and by inviting major game developers to be a part of our platform to further strengthen the company. I would also start a non-profit cloud kitchen company that provides great food at affordable costs, as I strongly believe every man should be provided with food, shelter, and clothing, especially food.
