The institute’s academic curriculum is aligned with the CFA certification. The subjects taught at the Institute play a critical role in arousing the interest of students in the finance domain. Some of the main courses are Fixed income securities, Introduction to derivatives, International finance. Management of financial institutions, Private equity, and Behavioural finance. These courses provide both a theoretical and practical perspective to the students.

The research at IIM Rohtak is made possible with the availability of efficient databases which provide the required data in no time. Some of the finance-related databases present in the institute are Ace Equity, Capitaline, Crisil Research, EMIS, Prowess, Insight, and ISID Database.

FI, the Finance and Investment Club

The Finance and Investment Club (FI) of IIM Rohtak has been an active player in fostering the enthusiasm in the finance domain. The club provides opportunities for students to improve their knowledge in finance domain through industry and alumni-connect. It organizes events such as Case study and Stock trading competitions, Budget talks, Simulation games, Newshour sessions, and Knowledge sessions. The club, in association with Wall Street School, had conducted a two-day Financial Modelling Workshop.

The monthly magazine 'ARBITRAGE' provides an opportunity for students to bring out their ideas and thoughts to the readers. It provides finance enthusiasts all over the country with a platform to showcase their knowledge through their insightful articles. The club also has an actively managed fund, known as the Vision Fund, driven by students to inculcate the practice of portfolio management. Through this initiative, students are exposed to the nuances of equity research, trading and fund management. This further provides a hands-on facility to apply the concepts learned in class to the real market. The club had organized a notable session on credit risk in Indian banking by Mr. Venkat Bhargav, RBI Manager. The institution has played host to various leaders across the industry from organizations like RBI, ICRA, ICICI, and PNB. The events conducted year-round help students prepare for careers in investment banking, risk management, private equity, treasury, insurance, micro-finance and other domains of finance.

Alumni

The institute has provided great opportunities to its students. Some of the alumni are working in reputed organizations like BCG, BlackRock, HSBC, American Express, RBI, Citibank, Credit Suisse and Fidelity Investments.
