How Tesla Has Captured The World’s Imagination And Is It Really Clean And Green

Hello Sir, Great insights about the product and the company. But, coming to Tesla's power charging stations all over USA, Europe and China are installed with solar panels at the stations. Especially in USA all the solar panels are provided by Elon Musk's other company SOLARCITY. So, I feel that if the same methodology is used in all the countries that Tesla is planning to expand then, we might see reduction in carbon footprint while producing energy to charge the cars at a great extent.

Chaitanya ... I agree with your point ... that is the point I make in conclusion. For your ready reference I am reproducing the relevant part of the article... Bottom line The Model 3 still scores as an environment-friendly option. Among the cars currently available, it can be counted among the cleanest and greenest options—despite the carbon footprints being generated upstream (sourcing of raw materials and manufacturing) and downstream (during charging and battery disposal). Of course, if the power plant uses renewable energy, Tesla will live up much better to the image it has created among its brand advocates. Alas, this option does not rest with Tesla. But Tesla is not leaving that to chance. Last year it introduced Powerwall, a home battery that charges using electricity generated from rooftop solar panels. This would ensure that a Tesla owner can charge her car in her garage. Tesla is also working with government agencies and organizations in Europe and China to install public charging stations. If Tesla can successfully execute this strategy, it will move closer to delivering on its promise of providing clean transportation.

Sir, sorry to ask a negative doubt on this wonderful project - In case if Tesla will be unable to deliver on time / or unable to keep its promise properly, what would be the Brand damage? and how to handle that (2 years back it happened with Honda Bikes unicorn & Shine)

The recent Government has taken an initiative and set a mission called NEMMP (national electricity mobility mission plan) 2020, which falls in parallel with companies' objectives like Tesla, Zbee (a sweden based electric 3 wheeler manufacturing company) etc. Chapter 3.7 clearly describes about the charging facility which is one of the biggest hurdle for EVs in India. I think where there's a petrol bunk there should be a charging station at least for 5 vehicles at time, then I see a change in people's perspective or notion towards EV industry and that's my take away.
