SIBM Pune is located in Lavale area of Pune, far away from the hustle and bustle of the busy metropolitan. SIBM Pune is located in the Lavale hilltop campus of Symbiosis University and shares the campus along with 8 other institutes. A lot of people confuse Symbiosis as one institute and do not realise that SIBM Pune is a flagship institute of Symbiosis University which has a long-standing legacy of over 40 years
Each year thousands of students apply to get into SIBM but only a couple hundred are finally selected through a rigorous process. This process brings talented students of all backgrounds under a single roof. SIBM Pune is also unique as it lets the students to choose their specializations within a month of joining the campus and even offers professional counselling to the students for the same. SIBM Pune believes it is also important to look beyond the traditional course and as a result, it also offers a course in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. A good feature of the college is that it’s a student run institute; all the major activities like admission, placements, corporate interface, alumni relations, etc. are all handled by the various student councils. These councils give the students of SIBM Pune a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills and contribute to the legacy of the college. Apart from this, there is a healthy interaction between the seniors and juniors facilitating knowledge transfer and memorable experience in the campus.
The campus at the hill top is picturesque to say the least and the monsoon always bring out the best in the campus. Everywhere you pause and turn around, it’s a picture perfect shot. The surrounding hills make you feel that you are not in Pune but in a hill station; especially the view from the helipad stands out. It’s no wonder that the lovely hill top campus is a shooting location for various films, providing a dimension not many campuses can offer. The hilly area does cut you off a little bit from the main city but the gush of fresh air makes you forget everything and enjoy the bliss.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
It would be an honour to serve in any company of the esteemed Aditya Birla Group. I would like to work for Hindalco Industries Limited. Hindalco is the flagship company of Aditya Birla Group and a top global player in metals space. Coming from a manufacturing background and operations specialization, I feel that I will be able to contribute to the success of Hindalco. I believe working in a global player like Hindalco would give me learning opportunities which would be unparalleled.
