It was June 18th, 2018 when I stepped onto the campus of IIM Kashipur. It was my first visit to a northern part in India. I am basically from Kerala so personally, coming all the way up to Uttarakhand was itself a unique experience for me. From the day I stepped on to this campus, I was searching for all the uniqueness I could find in this campus.
Well, to begin with, I loved the place initially for its green and calm surroundings. I just felt like it was home. The starting week had summers here and it was quite dry, unlike my place. I found it a bit hard to adjust. After one week, it started raining and the humidity reminded me of my place. The weather and my mind started to gel in.
The beautiful campus itself is a stand out feature of this IIM. It is away from all the hustles of the cities and the calmness allows every student here to have a peaceful two years of study. Normally, the IIM curriculum is supposed to be very rigorous, but the studying in this place gives one all the liberty of having a relaxed 2 year MBA. Unlike other IIM where they are more concentrated on the cities, IIM Kashipur has given their total concentration in and around rural areas which constitute around 70% of India.
So I believe this IIM directly refers to the majority. Students get to interact with people doing farming around the place which gives the students a knowledge of the entrepreneurial chances in the primary sector of India.
Overall, coming up the north has been a great experience so far, which I would not have got if I had chosen any other IIM. So. hoping everything goes well down the lane, these are the reasons why I thought IIM Kashipur is unique and special.
Which ABG company would one want to work for and why?
Of all the ABG companies, I have always wanted to work for idea cellular. One reason being, I have done my bachelor of technology in Electronics and Communication. So, I have a bit of technical knowledge of it as well. So managing such a company would be compatible easy for me. Also, I am a vivid traveler. I would love to travel along with my job to various parts of the country. Idea Cellular has a network spread all across all of India. Being in Idea Cellular would provide me with the luxury of the same. So I am looking forward to working in Idea Cellular.
