Write the Mock at the same time as your actual timing of the CAT exam. It is preferable to write the Mocks on 1st Nov, 8th Nov, 15th Nov and 22nd Nov at exactly the same time as your actual slot timing.
Those of you who are writing IIFT may shift the 22nd Nov to a date closer to 29th Nov but no later than 27th
Analyse the Mock that you have written for at least 3 hours. Exactly the time you would give for writing the exam the first time.
Please read How To Analyze Your Mock this for knowing how to analyse your Mock exam.
Work on at least 3 to 4 topics (in QA) AND 2 to 3 types of Charts (in DI) AND 2 to 3 types of Models (in LA) in the intervening periods between the writing of Mock CATs.
Take a RC+VA test (of 1 hour) every two days. If you have these in separate sectional tests, then take them as TWO tests per day.
Method of working on the topics
For each topic that you decide (in QA)
Write down all the concepts/formulae you remember in a sheet.
Review this set of concepts and formulae with the Chapter and add to your sheet any concept/formulae that you have forgotten
Pick all the original CAT questions from that topic and all the questions from your previous Mocks (SmartCATs of VistaMind) and solve them.
For e.g., if you are doing ‘Numbers‘ on a particular day, then pick all the questions from the Previous CAT papers and SmartCATs and solve in one sitting or two. This way you would have solved around 100+ questions in that topic. What’s more you would also have covered all the concepts and types of questions that have come in CAT over the years!
For each type of DI or LR set
Write down all the concepts, type of questions that you remember Review this set of concepts and formulae with the Chapter and add to your sheet any concept/formulae that you have forgotten
Pick all the original CAT Sets from DATA INTERPRETATION or LOGICAL ABILITY area along with all the sets from your previous Mocks (SmartCATs of VistaMind) and solve them.
For eg. If you are doing ‘BAR Charts‘ OR ‘Venn Diagrams’ on a particular day, then pick all the questions from the Previous CAT papers and SmartCATs of these type of sets and solve in one sitting or two. This way you would have solved around 10+ sets for that TYPE.
For RC and VA areas
For every test you write, analyse each and every question (even the ones that you got correct) once again and see that your reasoning OR knowledge (in terms of grammar or vocab) is enhanced.
Areas like RC and VA require rigorous practice and hence in the next 30 days, if you were to attempt about 50 odd RC sets and about 250+ questions in VA then you would get into the rhythm of writing these areas.

The next 30 days are the last leg of your preparation and hence the most important part of your prep. Do not entertain any negative thoughts. It is easy to get disheartened if your scores in the Mocks are not good. The idea of writing the Mocks is only to give you an idea of the paper and correct your strategy. Please use it just for that and do not bother about the ranking or percentiles.
Give your best. It could be more than enough to get you into an IIM. It is just that you have to find out how best you could be!
