ABG made its presence in my life since my childhood days. Every day during the lunch breaks in school, I would open my tiffin excitedly to find the tasty food cooked by my mom, still fresh and retaining its aroma. This was made possible by Fresh Wrapp. Seeing this shiny aluminium foil still brings a smile on my face as it reminds me of how, for years now, it made the love and care that my mom would put in the food she would cook, reach me.
Finally, I would like to conclude by saying that Aditya Birla group has contributed significantly in my life and I don’t see its contribution getting decreased. My families first preference in textile Peter England, trust in UltraTech Cement that we used when we constructed our first house. And as the time to enter in a professional space came in, with it came the need to wear a professional attire and Van Heusen came to my rescue. It helped me to not only look like a professional but even feel like one. All these are beautiful memories which this group has given me and my family and I don’t see it fading ever.
“Failure is not fatal. Failure is inevitable. If you don’t fail, it perhaps means you aren’t taking enough risks” Kumar Mangalam Birla.
Taking inspiration for ABG and its top managements, I would like to share my story of failures and the efforts to overcome/deal with it.
From being a very average kid with an average academic background to getting into one of the most coveted institution, St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, my school life was a roller coaster ride with a mix of both failures of not being selected as a school council member to being rejected for the school basket-ball team to finally being in the Top 20 of my batch, garnering a host lot of learnings for both academic and co-curriculars. After joining college, I FAILED to establish my name in a batch of 2230 people, where all of them were the best from their respective schools, but then my previous experiences and determination to create something led me to join Enactus, SXC and before I knew it, by the 3rd year, we had became the most respected college society and the entire college now knew us. The kid who couldn’t represent his school at inter-school competitions was now travelling throughout the country to represent his college at various national level competitions.
Failing to clear CAT in the first attempt led me to join my family business, which turned out to be one of my steepest learning curve till then and gave me an immense sense of satisfaction of contributing to an organisation and helping it grow. All of these illuminations from the failures converged together and gave me an opportunity to join the B School of my choice- IMI, New Delhi, wherein I once more failed in a few ventures and competitions while winning a few big ones like being the national finalist of Reliance TUP 4.0 or by representing my campus at various forums.
Truly, Aditya Birla Group has touched my life very closely , as it has of many others.
It has made it big not just in terms of numbers and scale but also my making a big presence in the lives of many individuals .
