Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life

Being an Indian born child, we all grow up hearing two big names and the story of two conglomerates who helped building this nation stronger and surviving. The one among them is Birla, every child must have had dreamt of being a part of this group when we start earning and the dream still continues for many. That’s how big the impact this Aditya Birla Group has created in every Indian life. This group was founded in the year 1857 by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla, being a 162 years old Indian Multinational Conglomerate, this group has vested interests in viscose staple fibre, metals, cement, viscose filament yarn, branded apparel, carbon black, chemicals, fertilisers, insulators, financial services, telecom, BPO and IT services. The group has its operations in 35 countries with more than 120,000 employees worldwide.

For me, it is not just another conglomerate who does various business, earns, and enters into Fortune 500. Aditya Birla Group have contributed in multiple ways to the society way before the government enforces on CSR activities. The Aditya Birla Group works in 5,000 villages, reaching out to 7.5 million people annually through the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development across various sectors like Healthcare, Education, Sustainable livelihood programmes, Infrastructure, and Model villages. They also work with government for the betterment of social schemes like Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, MGNREGA, Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Rural Livelihood Mission, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, National Rural Drinking Water Program, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Renewable Energy Development Program, Integrated Child Development Services, Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme, and Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana. As rightly said by Mrs. Rajashree Birla, Chairperson, the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development, the group is working hard to create an articulated social vision embedding in the business vision.

Part B

The challenges I have overcome to achieve the ambitions in my life

Following the ambitions doesn’t come easily and for a boy from a lower middle family in India, it is always not a successful story at the end. Financial conditions actually decides the future of a child, I being the eldest child of the family have gone through some of the tough phases in achieving what I am today. Money, the biggest issue of any ordinary family in India and the hard reality of that hit me only at the age of 14, thanks to my parents who actually tried hard to keep me away from that. Life shapes you better when you have a big dream of changing the world upside down, and the other side you face the reality of actual things around you which shows that it is not an easy path to go ahead. Determination, plan of action and hard work is what helped me to go pass the challenges that I have faced. I have worked hard to score well in higher secondary board exams so that the scholarships can help me get a degree. Strong will power helped me achieving that. I still cherish the moment of the result day where I have received hug and kisses from my father. I have joined Production Engineering in one of the coveted colleges in India, NIT-Trichy and completed the degree entirely by scholarships. Later, the decision to pursue MBA in IIM. The dream to achieve something big and change the fortune of my family keeps me working hard and fight the world stronger.
