Aditya Birla Group’s constant efforts in CSR activities haven’t gone unnoticed. They believe in making a difference. Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development has made milestones in reaching out to the underdeveloped sections of the society, has been working in more than 5000 villages to improve the healthcare and educational facilities over there. Their idea of transforming 300 model villages to bring a sustainable change in society can’t be less appreciated. It has always gone beyond its boundaries and through its silent contributions brought a smile on the face of millions of Indians.
This is how big the Aditya Birla Group is in my life!
Nothing in the world is easily available; and, that which is easy to get is not worth achieving! – a belief, that I value. I was in the second year of my B. Tech – aiming to do an MBA just because I wanted to add it on to my B. Tech degree. My visit to IIT Kharagpur that year changed my point of view completely. That is when I realized the value of being in a national institute. It created a passion in me to get into the top IIMs; be in a place where I could learn and build myself; a place which could give me an opportunity to deal with the most brilliant brains of the world; a place which could provide me with a wide outlook and the best exposure. There started my thrive to get into one of the best B-schools in the country.
I started a serious preparation from the beginning of the third year, took the demo classes of all the coaching institutes in Bhubaneswar and joined the one which suited my preparation style the best. I used to come down every weekend from Sarang to attend the classes. At times, I was fed up off the weekly up and downs, but I thoroughly pushed myself to do what I needed to. Few months prior to the CAT, I started taking a lot of mocks, to gauge my areas of strengths and weaknesses and improve my preparation further. There were times when I scored considerably less and had started panicking, leaving hopes of achieving anything. I remember the month of September when I met with an accident; to make it worse, the injuries, instead of healing got infected and I was on high antibiotics for days. Following it were the semester exams; thanks, to my friends who came as saviours and helped me in the semester preparations. This one month break further degraded my speed, lowering my mock marks even more, and, I had more 10 days to go. I took this as a challenge and worked harder, focusing more on my strengths, I practiced rigorously; and, after those three long hours of CAT 2017, I knew I had finally nailed it.
January 8, 2018! My happiness knew no bounds when I saw 97.13 written in bold against the percentile. The results were the first phase of my happiness which kept increasing as I got the IIM calls, further cleared XAT with a 92.6 percentile. And at last, IIM Raipur it was!
