The interest of this group does not limit here; so, we name it and they have it. It covers all and has ventures in viscose staple fibre, metals, viscose filament yarn, carbon black, chemicals, fertilisers, insulators, financial services, BPO and IT services.
This brand has become a part of our life as most of us would agree that our whole life is knitted around the products, services and memories that Aditya Birla Group has given us.
Yes, I have had my own bitter-sweet relation Vodafone Idea Limited. But, thanks to Aditya Birla Group, I have at least stayed connected with my near and dear ones even though I am staying miles apart from them.
I love brands and companies who believe in giving back to the society. Aditya Birla Group is contributing to the social and economic development of the weaker sections of the society which has truly helped in raising our country’s human development index. They are truly living up to what their tagline says- Taking India to the world.
It is safe to say that with the umpteen number of ways in which we relate to this group and its brands, Aditya Birla Group is truly “Big in your life”.
PART-B
Challenges are mere hurdles that each one of us has to face in our lives, but, facing up to it is the key.
One of the most challenging responsibilities was during my internship, when I had to conduct an on-ground promotional activity (a customer meet) for the brand I was working for. I am a fresher with no prior corporate experience. Everything seemed like a challenge to me as I had to plan for everything from the scratch- the date, the location, the guest invite, the presentation, the banners, standees, gifts, etc. I had to speak to and co-ordinate with a number of people to actually understand how things are done. The date, that me and the area business manager had planned, had to be preponed due to some political unrests going on in the state. Due to this, I was extremely nervous, majorly because it was my first corporate experience and I had to ensure that everything goes smooth. My mentor and my peers were continuously supporting me as I was extremely under-confident. I knew that if the event date is further postponed, I will lose the opportunity of conducting this event as my internship duration would come to an end. My family members were also constantly motivating me and I remember my brother’s words: Hard work is the key. I started chanting this in my mind and worked really hard towards making the event happen on time. Finally, the event happened on the day it was supposed to be. There again, a major challenge that I faced was that the audience did not understand English and Hindi Language and I am not proficient in Bengali (local language). So, the pitch and the presentation had to be customized. The audience was really understanding; so, me and the audience settled up on using a mix of these three languages for the presentation (of course, I had to seek some help from the Area Business Manager, who knew the local language.
With this, I realized one thing- challenges will come and go, but one should never stop and just go with the flow.
