0.1 million metric of UltraTech Cement went into the construction of Mumbai's Bandra-Worli Sea link.
With the help of ABG’s UltraTech Cement, one of the most beautiful sea links in the world was created which not only Mumbaikars are proud of but whole India!
Having lived in Mumbai for a short period of time, I understand the importance of saving the commute time to/from office and Bandra Worli sea link is the perfect example of how technological and infrastructural advancement has made the life easier in a city like Mumbai. The 5.6 km bridge has reduced commutation time between Worli, and the Suburbs of Bandra from 60-90 minutes to under 10 minutes. So, this is how, in one of the ways, ABG has impacted the lives of millions including me.
Another ABG’s product that comes to my mind is - The Freshwrapp, which played a key role in keeping my food hygienic and fresh. I have been living away from home for more than a decade now and getting a chance to have home-cooked food, which once used to be a routine, now seems to be a privileged affair. Whenever I get a chance to visit home, I make sure to carry home food while traveling back and Freshwrapp helps to keep it fresh and consumable over the journey.
Part B
“Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.”
Challenges are a part and parcel of life. They test your resilience towards difficult or unknown situations.
The biggest challenge that I’ve faced till now was to make a decision whether to accept a new job offer a couple of months before SNAP ’17 exam or to reject it while leaving the current job to prepare solely for SNAP.
It was the summers of 2017 when I decided to resign from the job as I was not able to devote efforts for SNAP preparation but as it goes, unplanned things happen when you meticulously plan the things! A week before the last working day at the job, I just casually gave a job interview and ended up receiving a job offer.
Now the dilemma was whether to accept that offer or prepare solely for SNAP which I had planned. And at that point just one question struck me – If I can’t overcome challenges today and manage both – a new challenging job and SNAP preparation simultaneously, how will I convince recruiters at B School tomorrow that I can be an effective manager? Without thinking further, I accepted the offer and at the same time started putting all my efforts into SNAP preparation as well.
Not only I got an admit into SIBM Bengaluru but bagged summer internship at the dream organization as well! Someone has rightly said – ‘Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful’
