ADITYA BIRLA GROUP has been my go-to apparel store for as long as I can remember. The amazing apparel selection, the focus on details, unique designs have been some major reasons for my loyalty to this group. Moreover, it knows exactly what most Indians want and that is value for money. It provides one of the most bang for buck offering in the apparel sphere ranging from the amazing formal wear by Louis Philippe to the glitzy party wear by Forever 21.
Be it my childhood apparels from Pantaloons or be it UltraTech Cement used for building our first home, the ADITYA BIRLA GROUP has it been a part of it all.
Even right now, i cannot imagine my life as an MBA student without formals from Van Heusen. Be it my dad’s birthday or any such auspicious occasion, Peter England has been a sure stop solution catering to all the gifting needs.
To be really honest, I didn’t realize this until last couple of years that all these impactful brands were under Aditya Birla group and hence this article is not just an entry but a “Thank You” note for impacting my life on such a large scale without me even realising it.
Coming on to the second part of the article, I will be talking about a situation which really changed my whole viewpoint about being proactive and to always be prepared for the worst case scenarios.
While working on my major project in the final year of under-graduation, I was initially a part of a team comprising of four students. The initial few months went peacefully since all four of us were glued to the research work at hand and were meeting all the expectations much before the set deadline. But as fate may have it, the grandmother of one of my team members met with a fatal accident and left for heavenly abode. So in this time of utter distress and grief, he stayed back at his native place for more than a month. It was quite shocking and distressing for each one of us as well. On top of that, another one of our team member met with an accident himself and got heavily injured. Both these incidents happened almost simultaneously and heavily destabilized our respective mindsets and dented our morale.
So now, the work which was supposed to be done by a team of four people was down to the two of us to be accomplished that too before the specified deadline, as set by our professor. It included making various drafts of the project file, editing them for any corrections made by our guide, preparing monthly presentations to be shown to our head of department as well as performing actual experiments in the lab. Plotting the waveforms from the results obtained from each of those experiments was the most cumbersome of them all.
Thus, in order to make up for the lost man power, we decided to work overtime even after the lab got closed after putting in an application for permission. The simulation part which we used to do post our lab time was done right after we were finished with the conduction of experiments. We used to switch roles in performing the experiment and plotting the waveforms of the previous experiment. The file and presentation work was done late night and on weekends. So for a good part of two months, my groupmate and me took it up as a challenge and enjoyed working our way towards the successful completion of the project.
This particular experience has been an extremely valuable learning curve for me as an individual as I have learnt how to handle pressure situations and more importantly come out of them with my head held high.
