Dream #IIM Trichy
Now-a-days every girl is given the basic education, but not many have the bliss to choose her dreams and favourite career. Do a BTech in whichever college you get admission in and go with the random company you get placed in. Taking extra time (a year) to succeed (due to your slow learning ability) in achieving what you dream of is considered as a time waste, for the sole reason that a girl's marriage gets delayed. I want to get in IIT but I couldn't get it in the first attempt. I wanted to try again but I was not given a chance and ended up with a local good college. The college is in good norms according to the placements as expected by the society but is not satisfying to a student with big dreams. Still I've moved on with the flow, joined and got placed in TCS, and started working there, where I realised I'm not completely into the job. I needed more. I needed good positions, better salary and wanted myself to be the best involved with the work. My dream to study in a good institute is evoked again which made me fly towards pursuing MBA from IIM. My father then did not believe in me and fought with me for denying the marriage proposals - in favour for doing my masters. Yet he knows the value of an MBA from an IIM. I studied parallelly while working and secured MBA seat from 10 IIMs. And this time I was frightened with a doubt whether it's the correct age for doing an MBA or not. Surprisingly my father encouraged me to get into IIM this time which is one the strongest reasons for why I'm here - in IIM Tiruchirapalli.
Making my parents realise the importance of a girl's freedom in choosing her dream job prioritising over traditional marriage systems is one of my greatest achievements which constantly encourages me to aim high, with a trust in myself that I can achieve anything.
