Sometimes you don't even think that some things have become part of your life until and unless you are made to realise the same. A similar thing happened to me at the beginning of my MBA journey. Being a part of B-School you come across various competition to keep you aware of the business world. On a Similar note one evening I got Notification about the ‘ABGLP Woo Me Competition’.Then I started thinking about the ABG products and how have they influenced me. To my surprise, ABG has been my companion throughout my life in one or the other way.
Truly said, “ If a friendship lasts for more than seven years, you are no longer friends but a family “ remembering this quote, I guess same has been my relationship with the ABG. It was during my eighth grade my Dad decided to build a new house. Being an Indian we have all our emotional strings attached to whatever we do for ourselves. Same was the thing with my family. At this time we had a trusted product 'Ultratech Cement' to build the house reason being this cement has 'no milavat (adulteration) ' as said by Dad.
Another time when ABG became part of my life was during my College grades. Coming from Tier-2 city branded clothes attraction usually start after 10 th grade when you start with your college life. A new mall named City Centre was started in our city. Being the first mall in the city it was an attraction to all the city crowd. Me not being different decided to purchase my very first branded clothes from this place. After visiting numerous shops I landed at the store of 'Pantaloons'. The store had an exotic range of clothes at a great price. From here my addiction to brands of 'Peter England, Van Heusen' started and is still on…
Being a typical Ghar ka Khana lover, Mom always takes care of my Tiffin whenever I was at School or Office and 'Freshwrapp' is a trusted brand for keeping Rotis, cakes fresh and retaining the flavours at our Home.
Mobile Phone is now a basic need of Human Being and a good stable cellular network is always the requirement of any customer. My views are no different. My first Mobile network service provider is 'IDEA' and it has never disappointed me in any terms. It has always fulfilled my requirements being it speed, connectivity, clarity at a very affordable cost. right from 'Hunny-Bunny' theme to become the largest network in India by Vodafone-Idea merger, Idea is my trusted companion.
Truly ABG has become my life long companion. With excellent service in any of its product ABG in real means has influenced my life.
Challenges are another source of opportunities …….
" Each life is made up of mistakes and learning, waiting and growing, practising patience and being persistent " A very great thought which comes to my mind when I describe the learning pattern of my life.
Right from school days, I was a typical first bencher 'Nerd' who was only focused towards getting marks and nothing else. Each time I gave exams I was always worried about the grades I would get and will I top the class. Even a Second rank in my class was like a big failure for me and I felt really bad about it. Well with this attitude I completed My school. Habits are really tough to change and the same habit I continued during my graduation. I was more concerned about my Grades rather than the knowledge I am getting. Not to mention being a topper I secured a job in MNC but somehow I was still not satisfied.
Meanwhile, my friends were preparing the famous exam of GATE which every engineer in his lifetime at least attempts for one time. Keeping the same attitude I was preparing along with my job. Somehow I could not perform well and I could not qualify. This was a real major failure for me and I was quite disappointed with myself. For some days I could not even concentrate on my work. I had a talk with my manager and he really helped me to figure out where I was wrong in my approach.
He said Do what you Like not what you are forced to. Learn new things not just for the sake of scoring but for the sake of Knowledge building. Learn from your mistakes and grow Stronger. And that day I started analysing myself. I knew I was good at my Aptitude skills. Along with this in my office, I also found that I had good leadership skills as being a team leader on the development of a new product I took the initiative and successfully completed the task.
Finally, I decided to nurture my skills and come out better than previously I was. So I found that the MBA is the way where I can truly develop myself and this is the place where I will definitely bring out the real me. So I prepared for the CAT exam. This time with no view of becoming topper but just to test my aptitude skills. And to my surprise with minimal preparation, I could easily perform well and get calls from nearly all the best B-Schools. Further in WAT-PI also I just kept it easy. I answered all the questions that I knew honestly. I just had faith in my preparation. And finally, I converted different B Schools. Based on my interest I finally joined VGSOM-IIT KGP.
Well, this is all about me who certainly realised at a much later stage of my life that For a happy career It is not the scores are important but the interest as well as happiness which matters. In coming days I will definitely explore more out of me and try to bring the Best out of myself.
