Peter England founded in 1889, Ireland, forayed into the Indian market in 1997. A year later, it was acquired by Aditya Birla Group. Peter England is one of the leading Menswear brand in India. Peter England is close to my heart because it offers a wide range of clothing ranging from casuals to formals. As an MBA student, I have to have a business suit which shows confidence and a smart look and Peter England is the right choice for me. Peter England exudes confidence, smartness and bold style statement which has had a deep impact on my personality. I wore Peter England suit to the IIM interview process and I can say that it definitely made me confident in the interview.
Another offering from Aditya Birla Group that is close to my heart is Idea Cellular. I have fond memories of my teenage years of which Idea was an integral part, those long calls with friends, families. Being a student of a boarding school, Idea helped me connect with my family and help me cope being away from home.
I will always be thankful to Aditya Birla Group, their offering has helped me and millions of people, be it fashion, connectivity or building homes for their family and will continue to do so.
PART 2
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES TO ACHIEVE MY AMBITIONS
I would like to write my story from the beginning of my boarding school life. It was definitely a big turning point for me. At the young age of 7, I was sent away from my family and friends. All comfort, belongingness, familiarity that I had known was gone. It is hard for a kid to cope with changes. I was put in a different environment, work to be done by myself. I went on to live in a boarding school till I went for my graduation. A decade in a boarding school, one might think what a boring life that would be. But it was not, it was definitely one of the best years I had experienced. It was not all fun, a lot of hard work was required starting from academics to social work. We were to maintain our campus clean, we literally had to clean it ourselves starting starting from grasses to bushes. It surely was a lot of work for a schoolboy. It taught us the value of working as a group and leadership.
Then came class 11th, I was made the captain of both class as well as the house. Being a house captain I was reponsible for 48 students. I was to make sure that everyone was on time morning exercise, classes, evening assembly. The main task for every house captain was the Sunday cleaning, it was a hard task to make sure everyone did their job.
The main challenge was that I was the youngest in my batch, even younger than many of my juniors. I was scared that no one would heed to my orders. I learned that it was not about seniority, rather it was about understanding your peers, listening their concerns. The activities were to be of team effort and understanding you peers is the way to successful completion of any task.
Whatever that I have achieved is all because of what I have learned in my hostel life and hopefully I will learn more here in IIM Kashipur.
