How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far

Being born to a family of army officers my life has mostly been a comfortable one with a few bumps along the way. From my parents were posted in two different cities - some of these dangerous to live in, my parents have managed the family perfectly. My mother with her precision balancing abilities of house and work and my father's discipline has helped guide all the steps that I take.

While deciding whether to pursue an MBA directly after my engineering or to pursue it after gaining some work experience, I started facing health issues, I was in a constant state of delirium. I had frequent headaches, mood swings and could not comprehend things. I presumed this was due to the stress of placements. This persisted for 3 months. Post this I realized that a doctor’s intervention was needed. I was diagnosed with a brain tumour in the pituitary gland. My mind could not come to terms with the enormity of the situation. I was left utterly scared and baffled, but the support of my loved ones helped me stay motivated. Fortunately, the tumour turned out to be benign, this brought some relief to my family and me. This period of distress drastically modified my outlook towards life and I emerged as a stronger individual.

I decided to go ahead and gain some work experience meanwhile concentrating on my health and studies. With continuous hard work and determination, I was successful in coming one step closer to my goals by getting admission in one of the prestigious B-Schools of the country, NMIMS, which will provide me with an atmosphere of symbiotic learning and help me achieve my goals.
