A conversation with Akshay Sharma helped in knowing and understanding about ABG’s work culture, what ABG means to him and why it is the Elysium for an employee.
What makes waking up and going to work on a Monday morning exciting?
There is nothing called Monday blues for me. Because of the nature of role I am in, each day brings in new opportunities to grab and challenges to demolish. I get to go out in the market, meet diverse sets of people, understand their needs and try my best to cater to them.
What is the most valuable lesson you have learnt at ABG?
Like ABG has set up this huge billion-dollar conglomerate steadily, I have tried to target the immediately achievable without losing sight of the bigger dreams. Opportunities in ABG are rampant to learn and grow. It is about how far you want to tread.
What does ABG symbolise for you?
ABG carries Indian adoration within and represents Indian pride without. It symbolises growth, prosperity and sustainability all backed by strong ethics and values. Short of details, this is where and how, ABG is BIG in my life, in our lives, touching upon our daily existence – pervasively but humbly.
Three words to describe the culture at ABG?
- Nurturing: developing people and making them enablers of growth and prosperity as the group grows.
- Innovative: innovation has always been imperative for a company as diverse as ABG. Be it Vodafone-Idea or ubiquitous Hindalco-made cover glasses in handsets.
- Respectful: people-focused organization, ethical employer, encouraging patron for creating leaders
