The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/DA). The degree must be recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. A prospective candidate must maintain a valid email id, phone number and CAT user ID (after completing the registration process).
If a student is pursuing a course like CA/CS etc., he/she is not eligible to write the CAT exam until he/she has a valid Bachelor's degree.
Is there any age limit for writing the CAT?
No there is no age limit.
What is the fees for CAT 2016?
The notification is not out yet. But the fees for last year CAT exam was Rs 1,600 for General candidates and Rs 800 for SC/ST/DA candidates.
How and when is the fees supposed to be paid?
The fees has to be paid using a debit/credit card or through net banking at the time of registering for the examination on the internet.
Can the date and venue for the exam be selected by the candidate?
The venue can be selected by the candidate as to which is his/her preferred city to write the exam but a time slot will be assigned to him/her on basis of availability.
Is it possible to appear for more than one slot?
No. A candidate can appear in 1 slot assigned to him/her only.
How can a candidate get his/her admit card for CAT 2016?
The admit card can be downloaded from www.iimcat.ac.in after the notifications are out. The candidate has to log into the website with his/her registered user ID to download the admit card. The name, centre and city, date of examination, registration number and DA (differently abled) status will be mentioned in it.
The admit card can be only downloaded online. The candidate will not receive a hard copy neither will it come by post.
What if the candidate accidentally fills wrong data about himself/herself and wants to change it?
A candidate can log in through his/her registered ID and change his/her details. But once the form is submitted and the fees are paid, no changes to the form can be made. So make sure while filling, you fill in all the right details.

No you cannot. You have to have any undergrad degree of some university.
