I still remember the day when the first time I saw the Bandra-Worli sea link, I was amazed to see the majestic infrastructure. I was young back then to understand who was behind this infrastructure, but today when I learn about the Aditya Birla Group’s contribution, I feel like thanking this firm with the bottom of my heart. Projects like these help in developing this nation as a whole.
The group is not only active economically but also plays a big role in contributing this society through CSR activities. Their contributions include providing medical camps and hospitals to helping the government in immunising children against polio, providing education through schools to even providing solar lamps and mid-day meals for school children. All this shows their high level of dedication in giving back to society. Steps like these should put a fire in our hearts that we are the ones who should take the responsibility of giving back to society and thus help in increasing the human development index of our country.
PART B : How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
I think the right mindset is the answer to every challenge.
For that, it is not the Intelligence quotient the works but it is the Emotional quotient that plays a major role. By emotional quotient I am not saying to reduce your anxiety, whenever a challenge comes we are bound to get anxious but the key is to bring your anxiety at an optimum level so that your performance gets maximised. This is the famous York’s Dodson Law.
Psychological concepts like these helped me a lot in overcoming challenges and achieving success in my life. Concepts like these helped me in realising that one should not repress their feelings, should not repress their ideas just because of the fear of failure. As Gestalt, the famous psychologist suggested that the whole is always more than the sum of its parts, thus one should always be optimistic in finding something new in every idea they pursue.
For long, our society has been a victim of the “just world hypothesis”. A suitable example would be how parents tell their children that if they work hard they will always succeed. Statements like these get engrossed in the personality and thus even after working hard when we fail in the future, we feel low and don’t understand the reason. The idea is to self talk and tell ourselves that it is perfectly fine to fail, need to again reprogram our mind that sometimes hard work won’t always pay off but one should always get back up and be a fighter for life.
