Another Snippet from Life Journey! (Part B)
The college life is not just about academics and friends, but a journey filled with the enjoyment of college festivals and various events organized over the period. Some people enjoy by taking part in the event, some are happy to be the audience, and some appreciates in organizing them. I belong to the last category who enjoys while organizing the events.
In the third year of engineering, I was in charge of conducting recreational activities throughout the academic year. For conducting an event, the one-man army is not enough, so I was backed up by the creative team of juniors. As I believe in “The man who is prepared has his battle half-fought.” – Miguel de Cervantes, I had chalked out the plan for the mega event, which was happening in the last phase of the academic year, with my team in the initial few months. According to our plan, once the final date is fixed, we can be ready for the event in just 10 days.
No matter how much you are prepared, there will be some circumstances which will shake your planning. The similar situation happened with this event. Due to various reasons, I had been asked to conduct the event as soon as possible i.e. only 3 days for preparation. I was destructed with the news. I had a dilemma whether to follow that old plan or jot down a new plan. But to conduct an event in so less time, I required large manpower to do so. My class of 70 students came to rescue. So, I was able to organize the event on time and it had become a grand success with 250+ participants. That day, I learned the most important lesson of my life, as quoted by Helen Keller - “Alone we can do so little; Together we can do so much.”
