I believe the bigger your dream, tougher the challenge is driving force to be more ambitious and achieve your goals, the more likely to face difficulties. All my life, I have lived in my own cozy world in Mumbai, India, suddenly one day I’m being told that we are relocating to a different country I knew nothing about, It was like moving to whole different world I didn’t understand at that time. Moving overseas to a country that I know absolutely nothing about was like taking a giant leap into the unknown. The first step was preparing myself to start from scratch which meant to fit in a new place, new surroundings and a new me or I should say a better me to ponder upon things & to do things I never did. 24th April 2011, The day I Landed, I had a moment of mixed feelings of joy & sadness, I couldn’t understand whether I should be excited for my new beginning or unhappy about leaving an already set lifestyle. As soon as I settled down, I had to start my schooling, already late by a month. This delay caused me to face more problems regarding my academics. My classmates had already made their own individual groups which made me to feel out of place as it was new school , a new environment.
I started to feel lost & wanted to return back to my country, It took some time but I realized I can get through this & embrace this new challenge life has thrown at me. I started working hard, started going for extra classes to cope up with the missed classes & being more interactive and attentive in class.
In order to socialize I started meeting my friends around the area, in malls, going for movies. I moved in a good locality with good & helpful people, & eventually learned to adapt &
blend in. It took me time to get settled but it was short-lived. The next phase of life was eagerly waiting for me – University. Starting University, was again a big step for me as I am an introvert by nature but I found my way in understanding people from diverse cultures and different walks of life, I had managed to cope up with stress & manage my time effectively &, I became independent, I developed as an individual getting myself ready for the world out there, took part in events therefore enhancing my skills to manage college events.
I've had my ups & downs in life and have faced different kinds of obstacles but one thing I learned from every experience is that whatever challenges life throws at you, only you yourself can help to overcome it.
