Let me rephrase my question: how far can you walk for your goal? Your passion? Your love?
Suddenly, thousands of kilometres look achievable, don't they? Let's push it little further, shall we?
Can you walk till the horizon? The one you have been always looking at, the place you always wanted to be at. Do you want to reach there? Can you walk there?
Let me tell you, it's not an easy place to go. It exists on the line where the world of reality ends and the land of dreams begin.
And the line is a blurred one. How will you know you have reached the land of dreams? How will you distinguish between a dream and a reality? What are you living in currently: Is it a dream or a reality? How are you so sure that it's not a dream? Well, it is for many. Ask the kids on the streets; what you currently have is a dream for them. But then ask the businessman sitting on the top floor of an office in the World Trade Center: you don't even exist for him. You are probably his test subject. At max his consumer.
But let me tell you, the path is obscure too. It's not a walk by a beach, the ones you like to take. It's not a straight highway either, the way you want it to be. It's a bloody twisted mess. A jigsaw puzzle, without any pieces to put in them. It's a string tangled in itself. With thrones on it. Laced with poison.
How long can you walk actually? How far can you pursue your goal, your dream, your passion? Forever, you say? But forever is just a lazy word that we use when we are confused about possibilities and outcomes. Your feet will bleed. Your muscles will sore. Your minds will become numb and your heart will get scared. Your forever will arrive sooner than you think.
Scared, are you? Well, you should be. Everybody said it'll be great, but nobody told you that it'll be easy. If greatness is what you have asked for, then you have to walk a great length too. To reach that blurred line. On that obscure path. But it leads to the horizon you have chosen for yourself, right? But are you sure that it's definitely the horizon that you want to reach? Is it your horizon or the one given to you by your parents, colleagues, loved ones and all? Basically, the by silly, sick society of yours, which likes to burden the innocent shoulders?
Are you trying to be a Moon, the dependent creature which lives on the light given by Sun and shows it off like it is his own?
Yes, the line is blurred and the path is obscure, but they have always been so. But if you walk towards the horizon that has been endowed upon you, you'll not have any motivation to reach there. You'll take a shortcut to reach someplace that has some source of light, gives you stable income and does not ask you any tough questions. You'll call it a horizon and will be done with it. You'll fool everyone else for life. And even if you reach the earlier horizon that you wanted to reach, will you be happy there? You'll then fool yourself for life.
What do you exactly want: to follow a path or to let the path follow you?
We all fight several battles in our lives. All of us have to. The victory is not always in our hands, but the battles we want to fight definitely are. And if you choose your own battles, you better choose the ones you really want to fight. Your own, independent battles. The ones worth dying in. The ones worth dying for. Victory in these will be celebrated like nothing has been, and even the scars of defeats will be proudly worn with smiles.
Define your own success. Don't let society define it for you; it doesn't have a right to define your happiness for you. Only you have that right, so you better enforce it.
It's not like you'll reach all those horizons, but you'll at least be satisfied with what you have done with your life.
You may or may not reach the horizon, but you'll definitely be the Sun you always wanted to be.
The independent Sun, the one who has his own light.
The one who has his own horizon.

Wow! that was a treat to read But sometimes when you have no idea of your future doing the best in your current scenario seems to be a better. Maybe , that's what you called following the path or may be your fate although fate is a lame word for many !

Thanks for the appreciation. Something best for you now may not be something that you like. But something you like can become a best experience :)
