Threading its way through for more than a century, the Aditya Birla Group has been the undisputed king of textile for the past several decades. Branching out in various countries it has remained dominant in the sector. But has the excellence in this spectrum affected the life of an individual like me?
It won’t be an overstatement that Aditya Birla Group has been a big part of my life. The Grasim Industries Limited is the flagship company of Aditya Birla Group. It was recently placed 154th in a list of world’s best regarded firms compiled by Forbes. I have been using the Grasim Fabric for years. The fabric is of optimum quality and smooth texture which makes me feel a class apart from the group. With the vast variety and options is difficult to get anything wrong. It is a brand I Trust. The Aditya Birla Group is a leading global player in VSF, accounting for about 17 per cent of global production. Apart from Viscose staple fibre , the group also owns acrylic fibre business in Thailand, viscose filament yarn businesses and spinning mills in India and South East Asia are top notch.
With the success story in the textile industry the ABG has branched out in the fashion apparel acquiring Pantaloons and Forever21 in India. There seems to be a never-ending hunger for excellence in every sector the ABG steps in, affecting and contributing in some way. Its presence in my life is massive.
Roller coaster ride
ABG has been considered the pinnacle of success yet every employee works consistently for improvement. ABG has gone through phases of ups and downs, standing as a testament to the fact that Rome was not built in a day. My life has been a roller coaster ride with extreme decisions right around the corner.
My passion for computer hardware had driven me to gain knowledge. I had been tweaking my own desktop, overclocking and overvolting to squeeze out last bit of performance from its hardware. After completion of my graduation degree, I started working on my E-commerce website with Domain name: Elitetechcart.com currently under construction and is online. To bring in capital, I worked briefly for a private organization, but the working hours were too long, and I could not input anything into my primary objective. Thus, I jumped into the sea of aspirants seeking Government jobs. On subsequent introspection, I realized that the website could not be finalized with the technical knowledge that I have. Registration of the business and its guidelines; hiring professionals at descent pay; advertising and marketing; collaboration with Companies to sell their product were the major hurdles that a lot of startups in India have failed to recognize and have been shut down. Therefore, to overcome them an MBA program is a necessity, keeping that in mind I registered for the CAT Exam and with a short duration of focused study secured a spot in a reputed institute in the prestigious IIM family of Business Schools.
