The vision of this institute is to produce corporate sector leaders and managers possessing the value of social responsibility (CSR). For this, IIMT conducts a project called “Make a difference”, through which students are introduced to different social problems and are required to give their insights for the potential project ideas.
A creative thought process lies in every aspect of IIMT. The logo depicts the vibrant learning culture of the institute. The motto- “Knowledge is endless”, impresses upon the concept of endless desire to learn. This is reflected by the pillars of our system i.e. students and faculty. Faculty members at IIMT are top notch researchers who act as facilitators for shaping the leaders of tomorrow by keeping students updated with the latest trends and industry demands.
For securing a seat at IIMT, students have to go through a rigorous selection procedure which ensures the entry of highly motivated candidates from diverse backgrounds. This is the reason why the student council of IIMT is very active and year by year the bar raises high for the incoming batch. Different committees of students work for the development of the institute by bringing more opportunities into the institute. The students show enthusiasm across all domains of cultural functions like Dhruva, Sanskriti to case study competitions, CFA research challenge, HR conclave etc. Similarly, they pay attention to social responsibilities like tree plantation:
Thus, IIMT logo, motto, the state of the art campus, the director, the faculty members, students and the intellectual surroundings of Trichy makes Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli a very unique educational institute.
Which Aditya Birla Group company would you want to work for and why?
I would like to work for Grasim- Chemical company by Aditya Birla Group. Right from its inception in 1947, ABG has been a major player of different industries. Grasim is one such flagship company which focuses on the development of VSF, Chlor-alkalis, cement etc. I want to gain more insights as to how the strategy behind this industry works. My interest in this domain stems from the fact that I have some background in research and development in biotechnology. While my prior training in this field enables me to ask the right question at the right step at research and development part, I wish to study the much bigger picture and apply the concepts that I will be learning through the management studies.
