Programs Offered
While both IMI, Delhi and GLIM, Chennai offer two year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), GLIM is better known for its one-year full-time Post-Graduate Program in Management (PGPM).
The Great Lakes PGPM is a fast track one year MBA program, designed for candidates with more than 2 years of full-time experience. The program has been consistently ranked in the top 10 one year MBA programs in the country. We’ll be taking into account the PGPM course into account for the comparison.
Admission Process
Great Lakes Institute of Management:
The applicants should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution and they are required to apply through a valid GMAT/CAT/XAT /CMAT score. There are other parameters also included, such as a special preference for college/university rank holders. The application submission deadline is generally around the end of February and the PI schedule announced by Great Lakes falls in the month of March.
International Management Institute, New Delhi:
Candidates can apply to IMI Delhi’s PGDM program through a valid CAT or GMAT score. They will be shortlisted for the final stage of selection process based on details provided in the admission form, CAT/GMAT scores, educational background, marks in 10th,12th, graduation and work experience in any. The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for Extempore speaking, Psychometric Test, Essay Writing, Personal Interview.

Great Lakes Institute of Management (PGPM, class of 2018)
The campus placement process for PGPM Class of 2018 witnessed over 85% of the students receiving final placement offers as of 20th Feb 2018.
IT/ITES (36%) was the largest recruiting sector followed by Consulting (26%), BFSI (21%), Internet Business (8%) and Analytics (6%). The average CTC of the batch was 11.14 Lakhs p.a. and the highest CTC offered was 18 Lakhs p.a. till date.
Average CTC offered for the Class of 2018 is:
- 11.14 lakhs p.a. and the median is 10.50 lakhs p.a.
- Highest CTC is 18 lakhs p.a. and Lowest CTC was 7.5 lakhs p.a.
- For the PGDM batch, maximum profiles offered in Sales & Marketing (54%) followed by Finance (24%) and Operations (12%). The average salary offered was 9.3 lakhs p.a.
International Management Institute, Delhi
Despite an increase in the batch size by 47% this year, making it the largest batch, placement at IMI has recorded an average of 12.23 lakhs. Amongst the 88 companies who made an offer, 21% were first-time recruiters.
The highest placement at IMI Delhi went up by 32% to Rs. 20.75 lakhs as against Rs. 15.6 lakhs last year. Although the average salary in Placement 2018 dropped by 2% to Rs. 12.23 lakhs from 12.54 lakhs last year, it is a marginal decline considering the batch size has increased 47%.

Curriculum
IMI, Delhi:
The course for the PGDM program is spread over six trimesters, each trimester being of 11-12 weeks. The first three trimesters are devoted to foundation courses, across core areas of management.
Courses in the 2nd year are designed to offer students an opportunity to pursue their interests in various functional areas. Students will have the opportunity to specialize in the area of their interests such as Marketing, Finance, Strategy, Information Systems and Operations etc.
GLIM, Chennai:
The PGPM is a one-year residential program. The 1st year has 7 terms, Term 1-3 with core courses and Term 4-7 with elective courses. For a full list of electives visit here.

Campus Life
IMI, Delhi :
The Institute encourages students to take up academic/professional initiatives in addition to their classroom learning with practical aspects of the real business world. Activities range from organizing special events focusing on current affairs to planned lectures that enrich the participants' professional, academic and extracurricular interests. Students have various academic/professional clubs in different functional areas.
GLIM, Chennai:
Being a student-managed and student-run institute, all key functions of the institute are ably supported by committed student bodies – be it admissions, extracurriculars, placements, web management or branding.
The overall conclusion that can be drawn is that these two MBA institutes enjoy a good reputation in the business world and have been successful brands in the management education by providing quality education, faculty, and infrastructure.

Tough times don't last ; mad people do. I'm strange. Weird. If you have a thesaurus at hand, flip to one of the adjectives I have used and look for synonyms. I'd love to hear them. I'm also used to hearing descriptions which amount to "creepy" and, of late, gulp, "pervert". I don't know how the last one got tagged to my personality. Admittedly, I do share raunchy jokes at times. That does not make me a pervert Well, I'm not a confident bloke who meets challenges head-on. No, that's not me. I have OCD, speak pathetically fast and couldn't date a girl even she miraculously appeared in my wardrobe with a can of the latest AXE fragrance. Does my personality have positive aspects? Yes, it does. I'm friendly and charmingly shy. I usually back away from challenges but put my heart and soul into anything thrust upon me.I don't smoke, drink alcohol or abuse drugs. I'm a patriot. I absolutely love India and hope to be of service to my motherland for the rest of my life. I'm a passably decent poet, a dull writer and a bit of a weirdo who is, in the 21st Century , a fan of ABBA and the Beatles. I have absolutely no taste for Heavy Metal - I can't stomach the perversion it engenders I'm also a quizzer, but not of the sort who spout questions and answers wherever they go. As far as my infatuation with esoteric schools goes, I love Freemasonry. I'm not a Freemason, but I hope to become one in the years to come. I sometimes wonder what lies within my personality. I'm not sure, but I do think that I am a werewolf. I could be wrong, so do correct me if I am and stay away from me at the beginning of the Lunar Cycle ;) I am a firm believer in ethics and morals, but can also dispense with them when the occasion calls for it. However, I do not compromise on them as far as possible. I'm a Monist - I'm particularly enamored by Advaita Vedanta. I do believe in the Law of Attraction, but am a very poor practitioner of it. I am an admirer of Dharmic faiths but also respectful of the Abrahamic ones. I believe that all religions nourish mankind in different ways. That being said, I'm a Hindu who's proud of his religion's philosophical wealth. I'm rather fond of animals. I particularly like stray dogs and cats. However, a feline or canine that attempts to scratch me even once earns my undying wrath. Fine, that was a joke What can you expect of me? Well, a smile, the odd prank and an uncanny ability to make you stare at me as if I were a newly-discovered alien. Apart from these, I am a braggart - don't take anything that I say at face value. This may come across as effeminate or stupid to some, but I really do value my friends. Being a person who never had too many friends as a child, I find a good friend twice as valuable as the Crown Jewels Oh, there's one quirky thing about me that you must know if you wish to be a friend of mine - I can get obsessed with a topic for months on end.
