This is a short description of how a “larger than life” brand has impacted millions of lives.
My ambition in life has always been to make some kind of an impact on the society. This impact needed to be for a long term. I joined a fundraising company which raises funds for UNICEF. I was in charge of doing street fundraising. For me it was a big task standing under the sun for 8 hours and approaching people who were strangers to me. I struggled in the initial week, shy to approach people. “Never would I ever do that”, I thought to myself. But the picture of those homeless children drenching in the peak monsoon of Mumbai occurred to my head. This was the reason I joined the cause and I cant back off just because I’m too shy. With that determination I started working with my team with a positive spirit.
One month of sheer hard work and determination later, my manager had called me while I was on the field working. I went to his cabin in the office. I was awarded best performer of the month and was given a responsibility of a Team Leader. This was a proud moment for me as all my work was dedicated to the goodwill of the society and it really gave me the satisfaction I could never have had even in the form of an appraisal.
This is my story of the struggle and the taste of success in the form of satisfaction which is beyond money.
