PART B- How Have You Made an Impact?
In this part of the story I will not speak about how my life has never been a bed of roses, because whose is? Everyone faces ups and downs during the course of their lives. It is not something to be proud of or something to put focus on. What demands attention is the idea of how someone did not give up despite the challenges and kept on moving no matter how big the problem was. I have been faced with several such situations but the one that comes to my mind every time I think about difficulties is negligible support from my family for my career. It might sound trivial to a lot of people but it never is when you are on the side of it. I had a lot of hopes pinned in on one “yes” from my family. I was seeking their permission to pursue higher studies from a different city. My father is of a conventional mindset and very cynical when it comes to putting trust into the world. His decision of not wanting me to stay far from home was justified if looked at from his point of view, but very heartbreaking when looked at from the aspect of a budding career.
I was in a dilemmatic situation of having to choose between respecting my parents’ decision and pursuing my dreams. I could not take the side of one. I gathered all the possible courage and persevered. It took me one entire year of pestering, reasoning and attempts of convincing my parents but I did succeed at the end. The result of it is what I am today. I am currently pursuing MBA from Indian Institute of Management Rohtak. Not only that, I worked hard to become the Head of Infusion, the Annual Fest of IIM Rohtak. This is my story of perseverance and not giving up!
