Nasscom Stance on Differential Pricing of Data Services
Nasscom stands firm on its stance of differential pricing of data services and has reiterated that all tariff plans should ensure unfettered right for the customer to choose, allow innovation without permission and have no differential data charges for different apps. In addition, Nasscom also proposed that a suitable oversight mechanism should be put in a place to check that the TSPs continue to abide by the principles of net neutrality and recommended establishing an independent not-for-profit entity with an independent board, who would own and manage proposed differential pricing programs.
