On similar lines, Xavier University, Bhubaneswar, as a kickstart to its first ever annual Cultural – Management Fest, Xamboree, has planned the first CSR event for the fest, Pratibha.
Pratibha, organized by the Social Responsibility Cell of XUB, is an inclusive annual function which caters to the differently abled kids of our society. The event intends to empower and motivate these special kids to showcase their innate talents and spread their wings into the bigger outside world. It is a noble initiative to make it a special day for the ones deprived of the simple joys of life. It will be a host to some engaging competitions for the kids from nearby NGOs, like Drawing, Racing, Football, Lemon Race, Throwball, Skipping, etc. These events will make the kids feel a sense of belongingness to the community and the important part they play for its future.
Pratibha caters to including the children who have been somehow ignored by the mainstream by giving wings to their imagination and making them feel ‘included’ in the mainstream, because whatever the situation might be, they are and have to be, a considerate part of the mainstream society.
Planning of a fest like this, not only bestows upon a huge responsibility but also makes opportunities for the young mindsets to familiarize themselves with the need for an inclusive society in the current scenario. Xamboree has given the students of XUB, a platform to be a part of a fest, like never before.
Micro-management, multi-tasking, compartmentalising and above all, managing, are the key prospects offered by a fest of such stature. It helps to add value to whatever the students learn inside the classrooms and get a chance to apply those skills and have a holistic understanding of the MBA life.
By engaging in events like Pratibha and above all, Xamboree, as a whole, the students get a wide view of the society and its functioning and the need to be a little more inclusive. After all, its us who form the ‘society’ and catering to a neglected section of the society, will in turn help us to grow stronger and better, parallelly.
So what really is the need of the hour? To make all efforts to tackle the disabilities and fix them into our abilities, to make a change and achieve the ‘so-called’ utopian goal of an inclusive society, and above all, to make the most of your MBA X-perience.
