Surviving NMIMS - A Veteran's Guide For New Joinees

I am a student of NMIMS Mumbai batch of 2017-19. I intend to specialise in marketing. My interests other than marketing are lawn tennis, modeling, dramatics and singing.

Nice article, Ravi. I have got admission to MBA core 2017-19. My concern is the lack of campus infrastructure like sports facilities, hostel away from campus etc. Also, interaction with students who are not staying in the hostel (which seems to be a considerable number, from what I have seen in the official converts FB group) would be limited because of the 11 pm curfew in hostel. For fees of 21-22 lakhs, these things seem a disadvantage. On the other hand, I might as well pay 19-20 lakhs and study in XIM Bhubaneswar, which has a full fledged campus, and seems to attract good companies despite slight location disadvantage. What is your take on this?

Also, I might go to other sports clubs for sports practice, but this would be a problem in a city like Mumbai. Even short distances would take quite a lot of time to cover, so it would be better to have everything in campus itself.

Yes, the lack of campus is an issue with NMIMS. However, students do not go back to their hostels/flats after their classes. They tend to stay within the campus which is always buzzing with activities till the evening. There is no college sports ground, but usually Football & Cricket matches are played by teams within campus (Designed like IPL) at a nearby playground. XIMB does, however, has an edge in this. When it comes to placements NMIMS has a slight better record.
