How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?
During my third year of college I was selected for doing my Summer Internship at Dell, Bangalore for a period of three months. For my project I was assigned a buddy who was from Brazil and my mentor was from US. I was assigned a project on SharePoint in which I had no experience. So, I had to connect with my buddy and my mentor for all the requirements. But it was a huge problem for me as it was done mostly in a telephonic conversation and moreover time zones were different. India was 8 hours and 30 minutes ahead of Brazil and 9 hours 30 minutes ahead of US. So, I had to coordinate with both the time zones to understand what exactly that expected from me. I first created the website in my local and then I wanted to shift it to the SharePoint platform. Since I didn’t have much idea regarding the functionality of SharePoint it became a problem as the code didn’t support for the SharePoint platform. I had already invested two months for this and I was left with just one month. I didn’t lose hope. How I overcame this challenge was by being optimistic and I prioritized my work so as to meet the deadlines. I started contacting people on my floor. I got to know about one of the members who could help me here at Dell Bangalore. I contacted him and tried to learn as much as I can regarding designing a website on SharePoint. I faced a lot of challenge in gaining a command over the language.
Though I had a lot of sleepless nights during the period, I still cherish the memories as it gave me a good experience of handling tough situations and had a great learning experience. After putting in a lot of efforts I finally had something to show up for my final presentation. It went well and I was awarded with a PPO after that. These challenges made me strong and improved my self-confidence.
