As part of my life, Aditya Birla had a role since my childhood days, My mother used to pack my lunch wrapped in aluminium foil by Hindalco ‘Freshwrapp’. When I grew up, the one stop shopping destination for all my family members was ‘Pantaloons’. The first mobile phone in our home had a sim card of ‘Idea’ that helped us remain connected to my father who had to travel distances due to his job commitments. The cement used during the construction of our home was from ‘Ultratech’ as suggested by the Engineer who was taking care of the construction work. After getting my Job, I bought Business formals from ‘Van Heusen’ through my first salary which was a source of immense happiness. Aditya Birla has always been an integral part of my Life, knowingly or unknowingly I have always used products made by Aditya Birla.
Overcoming challenges to achieve ambition
Being an introvert, it was very difficult for me to socialise and interact with people easily. I did my Engineering from NIT Raipur and the only reason for choosing this college was proximity to my home. I got campus placement in a company where I got posting in Chennai. Now acceptance of this job offer would sound very normal for many but for me it was a nightmare since that was the first time I was going out of my hometown, but I had to overcome my fear and come out of my world of solitude. I joined the company and initially, it was quite a big task for me to even go and speak to people around. Gradually, I started gaining confidence in interacting and eventually made very good friends. However, that was not something I wanted, my ambition was to become an entrepreneur with a social cause. I wanted to achieve this mission strategically in a more organized way and MBA from an IIM can obviously groom me in the most efficient way possible. However, after joining IIM, I realized it is going to be one of most challenging and difficult phases of my life, as now being just an ambivert can't make me sail through the tide. I have to be very much interacting and communicating with people as much as possible since it's a saying ‘Your Network is Your Networth’. I have started taking initiatives to talk to people and participate in class discussion and have gained lots of confidence. The world is not designed for introverts, so we must accustom ourselves accordingly .The biggest challenge in life is always overcoming our fear and coming out of it with shining colours.
