Thrive 2020 is the first iteration of the competition. Participants will be tasked with ideating app-based solutions to existing world problems. The list of problems can be found on the UNDP website by clicking here. Students can take any one of the problems listed there, and propose app-based solutions for the same. Participants will be judged on the basis of their idea, originality, creativity, implementability, execution plan, etc.

What’s in it for you?
All participants who make it to Round 2 will be presented with Amazon vouchers worth Rs.1000. However, there are several reasons why you would want to participate.
Primarily, the opportunity to get recognized for your ideas and creativity. There is nothing like being recognized by experts and big shots from the industry, that too at a very early stage in your career.
Secondly, this competition provides you a platform to network with your peers and industry professionals.
Lastly, the experience. These competitions present their participants with realistic situations that can help prepare them for the future. Not just that, these competitions shine brightly on your resume as well.
So what exactly is the Competition?
Round 1
Thrive 2020 will be hosted on the Kampus Konversations App. Participants will be required to make teams of 2.
- To register, download the Kampus Konversations App, and register your team. Details of all participants have to be entered. Please note that incomplete profiles and registrations will be disqualified.
- Once you have finalized your idea, you will have to make a 1-2 minute video of yourself explaining/pitching your idea to the judges. In the video, you have to explain your chosen problem, your solution, the concept of the app, and the projected impact it will have.
Round 2
- Top 30 teams will make it to round 2, where they will be mentored by experts from SDA Bocconi, attend webinars in an attempt to further explore and perfect their idea.
- At the end of Round 2, the teams will be required to present their ideas at the Bocconi Campus in Powai. The app ideas will be presented in the form of a three slide presentation, which will be judged on various criteria.
Who can participate?
Thrive 2020 is open only for undergrad students. If you are enrolled in any undergraduate course in India, you will be eligible to participate in Thrive 2020. For further details, click here.
When is the deadline?
Registrations close on 16th January, 2020! If you wish to participate, then send in your video submissions before 16th January, 2020.
How do you participate?
As mentioned above, Thrive 2020 will be hosted on the Kampus Konversations app. To participate, you have to download the Kampus Konversations app from the links (Android | IOS) and register for Thrive 2020. The video that is to be made for Round 1 must be uploaded on the Kampus app. All updates, news, notifications will also be sent by the Kampus app.
